About the Event

HOW TO DEVELOP TRUE CONFIDENCE
I will be joined by my friend Phuong Phan to teach you about developing true confidence in a practical way.
Radio host on 89.3FM and soon to be TV host for HeyYa TV, Phuong has received awards for both Outstanding Business Service (2016) and an Empowerment Award by CALD Events (2017).
But arriving from Vietnam as a boat refugee at age 2, Phuong was an unsociable introvert and outsider all through school. She rose from that situation setting up 3 businesses in the fitness industry but then she battled both domestic violence and a loss in confidence in herself.
Since then however, she has found her wings and has shared over 200 videos on her journey to be a speaker helping over 80,000 people redirect their life and have career alignment. She has helped bring in over $20 million in sales in Education and will be my co-speaker this night.
There are many esoteric techniques on the topic of confidence and change.
In my experience and from coaching speakers, very few of these techniques have a place.
I have found to increase one's confidence in a short time, one must increase their ability.
And this is the downfall of all shorter term techniques - failure. In other words, one can only 'pretend' for so long. Eventually 'inability' will ensure one never rises again.
So how does one then gain both confidence and ability quickly?
I have gone from 'not knowing' to delivering a 10 minute standup in another accent, to writing a University Thesis in 3 days, to delivering seminars on topics I did not know, to getting jobs to which I'm sure 80% of other applicants were more qualified (without lying) to persuading CEOs that they should pay me 150% more for the next consulting role.
All this based on a foundation of ability - to learn how to learn and KNOWING you can do something.
Confidence with a foundation.
And this is what I will talk about this evening.
We are looking to make our events regular and make this a great networking event. Also finishing now at 7.30pm we will go to a nearby venue (possibly the Grace Hotel & PJ O'Briens inside) after we finish for a drink and further networking.
